Candace

Last Saturday I met Candace, a “real” New Yorker, born and raised in the Bronx. I had to laugh at the way she defied the stereotype- Candace was friendly and bubbly, a real effervescent personality. Goes to show me…

About Candace:

Favorite Movie: The Sweetest Thing. Although I haven’t seen it, we bonded over our mutual admiration of Cameron Diaz and our shame at knowing Christina Applegate primarily as the old Kelly Bundy. Alas, first impressions die hard!

Favorite Food: Pizza. Real New York style.

Favorite Thing about NYC: Summertime. I have to agree- this is a city that knows how to live up the sunny season.

One Thing She’d Like to Tell People: “There are places outside of New York. Most native New Yorkers don’t realize that.”

Candace really liked the idea of onthetwo, and she said she’d check it out. She even got her Blackberry out to note the web address- I was impressed. I told her to promise to leave a comment when she got here, so that I’d know she really saw it. Because…I’m not sure why. Just because! That would be cool.

Candace, are you there?!? If you ever make it here, it was lovely meeting you and I hope life is treating you well today. : )
P.S. I forgot her friends! In the picture...Candace "and friends." They told me to put that.

My blog is new and not doing much, it doesn't really have a particular path to follow, and so it has few, if any, readers. But if I happen to get any, they will find a link to this blog near the top of mine. I like and appreciate what you're doing here.

Hi I can't remember your name but this is Candace. I love your site. I don't think I am as bold as you to talk to random people on the train but I did blog about my people watching while on the 2. My site is on myspace at www.myspace.com/leeida but you have to be my friend. Hope to see you on myspace. I will be checking out onthetwo occasionally. Nice meeting you.

Hey Darlin' This is Kathleen, Jaimee's friend from Omaha! I can't even describe how much love this experiment in living. A truly interactive life! For me, meeting new people helps me mark my days and remember their significance. Sending you some love from the home town!
